HELP: Imac G5 memory
im buying a memory next week for my imac g5 w/o Isight ill be choosing a PC memory. Anu po yung dapat kong tandaan in choosing a memory? what is CL3? What is DDR, DDR1, DDR2? PIN 184, 200, 240?
All I know is i need a ram that's pc3200 can I buy a 200 pin or 240 pin?

you imac uses DDR400 (PC3200) 184-pins unbuffered non-ecc dimms... 200-pins are sodimms and 240-pins are ddr2 dimms.
I suggest buy a kingston brand and prefarably by pairs, 2 x 512MB or 2 x 1GB.

thanks mark.. what is CL3 means it's written on my stock memory (SAMSUNG)? sorry for my ignorance so i cant use 200 n 240 pins kc pc3200 din sya eh? Since you are suggesting it by pairs can I buy locally yung samsung brand exactly as in my imac.

CL3 corresponds to the ram''s latency or timing... lower latency means better timing but on macs it's really not that important since you won't be overclocking it. 200-pins are sodimms, used on notebooks/laptops while 240-pins are ddr2 dimms, both will not even fit on your imac. lastly, it's not necessary that you buy the same brand of ram like what's already installed in your imac... just buy the same type and specs.
