When to know im due for a HD upgrade?
Is there a limit (hard disk space left) to determine if i already need a hard disk upgrade?
thanks!

Your computer pops a message that it needs more space (if it reaches 500mb below it will pop-up anytime).
Suprisingly our iMacDV has only 436mb available and still Mac OS X is very usable. I can post this message, run a movie, check mails. Ideally leave at least 10-15% free from your total HD capacity to make room for temp files the OS needs.
You basically need a hard disk upgrade if the current drive won't fullfill your current needs. If you find youself deleting a lot of files just to accomodate a new set of files... better get a bigger one or install a second drive (if your using a PowerMac). Another is get a external Firewire HD.

if you're the type of guy who really loves his iTunes and iPhoto, better have it upgraded to the highest possible GB capacity and high revving (parang kotse ano?) HD.

would you suggest buying an external HD instead?

an external HD would be ideal when you don't rely on your iApps. But if the iApps could be run from the main HD and then run files from removable drives, that would be super.

That's what I do. I use iMovie to edit videos which are on an external HD. You can also transfer your iTunes and iPhoto libraries to an external HD.
