Updated Ibooks Released!

Just found this news on the MacRumors website.

Apple released three new iBook revisions today (Oct.19):

iBook 12" 1.2 Ghz G4
512K L2 Cache
256 MB Ram
30 GB Hard Drive
Combo Drive
Airport Extreme
$999

iBook 14" 1.33 Ghz G4
512K L2 Cache
256 MB Ram
60 GB Hard Drive
Combo Drive
Airport Extreme
$1299

iBook 14" 1.33 Ghz G4
512K L2 Cache
256 MB Ram
60 GB Hard Drive
SuperDrive
Airport Extreme
$1499


All of them get processor upgrades they were 1GHz, 1GHz, and 1.2GHz respectively. Also all now have Airport Extreme built in. A very good deal indeed!

All are priced the same except for the 12" Combo Drive which is $100 dollars cheaper. I'm planning to get the 15" powerbook but it seems specs-wise the 14" ibook (w/superdrive) is catching up; a $1,000 difference.

Is this why computer shops have been selling the ibook at sale prices recently. Can we expect a powerbook upgrade any time soon? Do you think prices of the existing powerbook can drop a bit? Should I wait it out?
