About LinkBackshi my bro is interested in getting a pb 12" but seeing that the macrumors website is hinting to a possible upgrade sometime soon, i was just wondering if any of you guys know when it would come out? I want to take the opportunity to get an ipod in the Cram and Jam promo in the states. But if my bro buys now and it eventually upgrades into a new model then the ipod may not be worth it at all. any hints of what kind of upgrade will be done on a Rev d?

I truly believe the next PowerBooks will be using G5 processors, not G4s. IMHO, the "dual-core G4 chips in new PowerBooks" rumor is not happening.
Either way, I reckon it'll be months before new PowerBooks are announced. I reckon January 10 is a good date for an announcement (Macworld Expo SF). That's a good 4 months away (not including any potential shipping delays). If your bro needs a PowerBook right now, just tell him to go ahead and buy one. No sense in waiting for what is technically a nonexisting upgrade. ;-)
