I use a Sony projector with a standard connector for a monitor...I have the adaptor bundled with my 'Book to connect my Mac to the projector...no problems what so ever.
For controlling the presentation i use my P800 with Salling Clicker which you should install both in your Mac and phone. AFAIK it is compatible with a 3650, it's not free though...you can use a trial version but limited to 30 clicks which you need to reconnect again.
This is where Keynote comes in...i teach Flash but i use Keynote for my presentation since it only needs a tap on my p800 to go to the next slide.

By default, your PBook will work with any projector. I mean, it SHOULD. Just don't plug via USB. Use the VGA adaptor that came with your unit.
I don't know about the newer powerbooks, but usually, the moment I plug the adaptor in, my resolution goes 800 x 600. You can correct this by manually configuring the display prefs to 1024 x 768, that's if the projector supports it.
Good luck with your presentation.

Hi JR!
I've done many presentations to prospective clients using their own projectors---some of them Infocus--generally w/o incident.
One thing I always make sure to do is to always be at the site way ahead of sked to check on the "quirkiness" of the projector I'll be working w/. I've had to learn the hard way that keeping the CEO waiting while you try to figure out what's wrong significantly lessens your chances of nailing down the account.
While some projectors are plug-&-play, as Elbert pointed out, when hooked up to the PowerBook, some require a restart before they detect your laptop.
I gotta agree w/ Don. Salling Clicker's the way to go in controlling your presentation w/ your phone!

I use mine with an Infocus X1 and it works flawlessly. Only advice is to connect the projector cable and disconnect it while the computer is running, since it will autodetect displays and my experience is that it may on rare occassions get confused if you connect/disconnect while the computer is sleeping.

i use mine with an older infocus and it worked like a charm.
for the bluetooth remote control, you can use Salling Clicker (not free though) or Romeo (Freeware): http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18573

madami nga palang infocus sa intra
sir spidy, he's using a 3650...i use Romeo when i use my t68...but with a Symbian-based phone, it is more compatible with Salling Clicker. I think Romeo needs another program for Symbian phones...correct me if im wrong people.
Thanks

I just came from a presentation where I used a Canon projector and it worked just fine.
A couple of questions though:
1. Is there a way to keep the 1024 resolution when connecting to the projector instead of having to set it all the time (as in Elbert's case) because I get the same thing.
2. Last time I connected, I already set to mirroring mode but when I connected again today, it connected to the extended desktop mode again. Is there a way to keep it at mirroring mode as a default?
3. Is there a way to blank out the projector screen while keeping it connected to the Mac? Lets say I am already projecting and I want to go to another file but dont want the audience to see the process on the screen, is there like a function combination I can press, like the "Fn+F4" or F-whatever button on a PC notebook that cycles from LCD and both LCD and VGA modes?
