don't know if this is what you had in mind. but if you have to leave your mac in the car put it on the floor. if your car is tinted enough, someone looking in can't see if there's anything on the floor. then again, if someone breaks in, there's nothing you can do.

i know someone who had a pelican case bolted into his trunk to keep valuables he needs locked away in the car while hes away from it. must be funny when a thief tries to run off with it and realizes that its attached to the car.

I put it under the front passenger seat. I know it isn't the safest place because it's the first area a thief would search. If you are going to a mall and you don't intend to use your unit, then just leave it at home.

I used to have a sentry fireproof box bolted to the trunk for carrying imporant documents.
While thieves can break into even th most well protected vehicle, I think its important to park in safe areas, and to install/use measures to slow his removal of your valuables.
After all, he's likely to catch the attention of the guards if he spends more than a few minutes struggling to remove items in your car.

I never leave my laptop in the car. Never. Which presents a problem because some cinemas won't allow laptops in the moviehouse. Bakit nga ba bawal yon? Can someone explain it to me?
We have a mugger here who was also stopped from bringing his laptop inside a hospital. Labo. If someone can explain this to me I would really appreciate it.

so far, haven't experienced the same when going to cinemas (greenbelt) maybe its because my powerbook is neatly tucked on my pseudo-boblbe.
oo nga, bakit bawal?

I never leave my mac in the car. I always bring it around with me. Otherwise, I leave it in the office or at home. Bawal pala sa movie houses? I did it a couple of times na, ok naman. which cinemas doesn't allow this? Also no problem in Makati Med. Was able to bring it inside as well - no hassle.

Inside the hospital? Labo. I work in a hospital and I use my Powerbook in all areas. We even have PCs sitting beside lab, x-ray and ultrasound diagnostic equipment, ok naman. However, in some countries cellphones are banned inside health facilities because they can apparently disrupt the operation of diagnostic machines.
I'd never leave my PB in my car.

I never leave my Powerbook in the car. Oh yeah, I did once when I went shopping in Makati. I got so paranoid though that I went back for it after a few minutes. I've never had a problem though with Cinemas. I have no choice but to bring it along with me to after work gimmiks. Maybe it's because the laptop is inconspicuously hidden in my crumpler backpack.
This is a weird idea but maybe the cinema people think that other people use their laptops to steal the movies off the big screen?
