Wow pretty cool specs! How long does it usually take before the local dealers have them?

I'd give them until mid-next month the earliest. I recall that when the iBook G4s were first announced in October last year it took the first trickle of units to come mid-to-late November. However, if you ask the local iBook G4 owners around, you'll know that it was really hard to get your hands on one until January the earliest. Also, the local resellers have only had ample supply lately, so I doubt they'll want to just get rid of inventory just like that.

The iBook G4/1GHz is a really good deal, I'll admit. For those who've owned the iBook G4/800MHz since last year, it isn't a bad time to upgrade within the year considering AppleCare for these iBooks is about P15,000. Add a little more and you get a new Mac. Then again, if you look at it closely, 200MHz isn't going to dramatically change our lives, but for what you're paying for Applecare, you might as well get something tangible in return.

As for me, I'm still dreaming of the 15" PowerBooks. Sigh. Their specs aren't as impressive now, at only 1.5GHz, but we couldn't really expect Apple and IBM to pull a miracle with the PowerBook G5.

Superdrive for 14" only? Should have made one available for the 12" too.
