My TiBook, undergone a beauty treatment.
Just thought it will be good to share this with the group.
I went to Apple Service Centre here in HK this week to have my TiBook's screen replaced due to the white spots that it developed over the months, and this was even before Apple announced the recall. Unfortunately, my serial no is not included in the list, but fortunately, i have Apple Care, thus, they replaced my screen. And i was very glad.
However, I also raised the issue of the paint that is chipping-off from the titanium frame, and to my utmost surprise, Apple Service Centre engineer said 'We will replace the top case too"!!!!! WOW! talk about caring for an apple!!!!
So, got my precious back from its beauty treatment and she looks like new!!! New Screen, New touch pad (part of the top case) and New frame. Now who wants to by a "new" Tibook.
So those who have not decided to buy an apple care, it's worth it.

What happened to your battery, if I may ask? Is it defective or resulted from wear and tear?

Maybe because of usage (1 year approx), my battery life went down from 2++ hours to just almost 20mins. Fortunately it was replaced for free.

Good & wise move, Myles!
Had a reseller give me a quote for the replacement of our TiBook's casing since we weren't able to get AppleCare for it. It'll set us back by almost P18k. Grrrggghh!

Just asked how much Applecare for a 12" PowerBook G4 at Apple Center in Greenbelt and it's almost 21k. Well, 18k for a casing replacement...Applecare seems to be a very wise decision.

Arel, you just made my day. Now the precious is more procious. I also heard from a reseller here that to replace the screen of a 15" tibook will cost around P21-30K
so 21K + 18K = 39K Magkano nga ba dyan ang Apple Care for PB?
oops, Bagwis, missed your note. Di na rin pala nalalayo dito.
