    Default iTablet

I guess the technology is there. My question would be, is there a demand? Anyone interested in a Tablet Mac?

    Really nice.

I probably would want one is the price is right. Just how good is the touch screen interface?

*raises hand* I'd love an iTablet! Though the name sounds kinda funny.
In any case, think of a thin and light (~2lb) iMac, just minus the optical drive and stand.

There could be a docking station with the optical drive, more ports, keyboard, and mouse. If it was priced like the iMac, I would most definitely spring for one!

hmmm... couple of thoughts why Steve won't touch this one.

First off, its ergonomically bad. Imagine spending an hour or two looking down, doing word processing or even simply surfing on it. Sure you could have a dock/stand for it, but then it would be impractical for on the go people who want to travel light.

Touch screen for PDA is fine. But if you have a screen this big, it'll get tiring on the arms. For me, this is simply impractical.

I'd really like to see Johnny iPod take a crack at reinventing this.

I used to use a TabletPC. It was pretty good. Easy to surf while lying down, good for taking notes, and generally not that big.

Only a couple of problems: battery life was not as expected for a computer with a tablet's intended use and that the thing ran on Windows

If there was an iTablet, I would definitely get one if it was small and light, handwriting recognition and voice control was good, battery life is excellent, and of course it runs OS X.
