IBOOK HELP NEEDED!!

my 12" 1 Ghz ibook ejects all types of CD-ROM i put into...has anyone encountered this same problem? i have a presentation tomorrow and need to burn CD's right after the presentation!!!!

check your preferences on handling CD & DVD.
set it to open finder when inserting a blank CD.

other than that, I can't think of why you have problems.

Have you tried to restart the ibook?
Actually I had the opposite problem before, the CDs does not eject.

Yes, it has happened to me--Audio CDs, Blank CDs, CD-Rs, DVDs, etc.--all types of discs.

You're not going to like what I'm about to say, but my optical drive had to be replaced. It took a couple of weeks for the part to arrive.

Thank god for AppleCare Protection Plan though.

My AlBook's superdrive did the same thing and also had to be replaced although it took Ynzal less than a week to get the replacement part and a couple of minutes to install it.

so far my ibook never encounter those prob,
except on rewritable cd, it only burn once, and i cannot put anything on it anymore

The first time I put a CD into my PB (aside from installation) it would not read the media and it refused to eject. I got so scared I had to call my friend for help. I had to eject it manually during restart.

actually had the same problem before, i just restarted using UNIX prompt : holding COMMAND + OPTION + O + F, unix prompt pops up, i then typed eject cd, when the cd ejects, type mac-boot...

just noticed that my CD-rom only reads DVD's, but NOT CD's, may it be blank,data or audio..anyone has this same problem? is this software problem? before this happened i burned a CD using toast and a disc error occurred, i ejected the CD thinking that it was defective..
