iBook 12" and AV cable

i need help regarding compatibility of the apple AV cable with the 12" iBook. i bought the accessory last tuesday but am not able to make it work with my iBook and a TV. so far, i can only hear the sound of the DVD movie but there is no picture (video) in the TV.
