Default how often do you turn off your iBook/PBook?

I had this experience last week that probably shouldn't freak me out but did so anyway. I was chatting with PowerPee maybe a month ago and he mentioned something about people in the US (or wherever) leaving their laptops in sleep mode and hardly ever turning them off. So I had it in mind to try out leaving mine is sleep mode while it's on my desk.

Last Wednesday, I turned it on in the morning and put it in sleep mode, left the office, came back in the afternoon and put it in my bag, completely forgetting that it was just in sleep mode and not off. I must have been very busy and did not touch my computer or even my bag until Friday afternoon. And when I brought my iBook out, it was still ON!!!

So it was in sleep mode from Wed morning to Friday afternoon. Actually it didn't seem like too much power was consumed because I used it for maybe about 3 hours before the power started running low. So, how long could I actually leave it on, in sleep mode, before it becomes necessary to plug it in or shut it down?

This was discussed here already, but to answer your question. Since I got my PBook about 4-5 months ago, it has been on sleep mode except for a few times when I needed to restart when installing software. Just leave it in sleep mode and only turn it off when you need to store it for long breaks.

since the proper thread has already been identified, and to prevent the unneccessary proliferation of threads (no problem with your raising the question mylinda, this is just a little housekeeping ), i'm closing this thread. please refer to the link above, or add to it, thanks!
