Help!!12\" ibook,14\" ibook,or 12\"pbook?
Hello!i want to switch to a mac,a portable to be specific.the problem is,i have a tight budget..only 70k.im choosing between the ff:
1. a bnew 1.2ghz 12" ibook/30GB/256MBRAM/Combo/Airport extreme built-in,1 yr warranty for P62K,additional 256RAM for around P4K,total of P66K
2. a used 1.0ghz 14"ibook/40GB/512MBRAM/Combo/Airport extreme built-in.purchased last aug 2004,but has apple care so it stil has around 2 yrs left.has light scratches on the cover due to the laptop bag (according to the owner),comes with apps like photoshop and ms office for P65K
OR
3. a used 12"powerbook with 867MHz/40GB/640RAM/SuperDrive/Bluetooth/Airport (comes with apps) Express, brand new condition no scratches at all for P70K.
i'm into graphic design (photoshop) so i really need a big RAM.i don't know if i need the bigger screen..but i prefer the 12" because of its portability.the ibooks are cheaper but i want a powerbook because its sleek and they say its a more powerful machine.
which one is the better buy?if ever someone is selling a better package than those mentioned above,U2U or email me pls.
please, please help me..i need to decide before mid april.
thanks in advance!!

if WiFi is a factor, the iBooks are better here.
None of these three have a PCMCIA slot.
The Powerbook 867 does not have USB 2.0 !

Go for the brand new 12" iBook since it's still within your budget.

even if you get the 14" ibook you'll still have the same resolution (1024x768) as the 12" ibook or powerbook. you may also not need the additional power of a powerbook if you're just doing graphic design. just make sure you get at least 768 MB of RAM in Panther.

70T? wow, that's a lot of money.
For a brand new Mac, I suggest you go for a 12" iBook G4. that around 50T. Don't forget to upgrade memory to at least 512MB.
Or get any of the 550Mhz and up second hand Titanium G4s posted on the list from 25T to 50T. As usual, set aside a budget for RAM and Airport card.
