Default Connectivity of Powerbook to New Cinema Display

I recently picked up my new 20" Cinema display (20cd). And before i get into the thick of my experience and query, this screen is awesome!!! The 10d & mark2 output images seems to be leaping and reaching out to the viewer.....can't get enough of it!

The new Cinema display has 3 cables going into the powerbook, DVI, USB2, Firewire. I am also using an ASUS (from my pc days) port replicator that is directly connected to my PB USB. The ASUS port hosts my, printer, 120gb external drive, wireless mouse & the WACOM pen.

When i connected the 20cd to the PB, the printer connected to the ASUS did not work, while all other peripherals did. So I transfered the printer to the 20cd usb, and it started working fine.

Connected to my 20cd is my wireless ext. keyboard (USB), iSight, iPod (firewire)

QUESTION: Why is that happening? Printer stopped working (can be seen) when the 20cd got connected, when it used to work fine before?

Posted for learning purposes. Thank you.
