If anyone of you remembers the Al Pacino Movie "Simone", and had been a fan "Macross Plus", then this technology I'm posting is just 1 step away from reality (no pun intended)

The software and concept is hard to explain except that its a voice synthesizer - a very advanced one. And some version of it is free.

Learn more from here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocaloid

The iVocaloid app is unfortunately available only in the Japanese iTunes market. And an android version is due for release this year.

The best way to show what this app and its offspring of other apps are capable of doing is by viewing this - their most famous ambassador.

Hatsune Miku - she's the first digital character to hold a live concert. Forget about the Gorrilaz fiasco, this one's moving - and holographic (thanks to a proprietary projection technology by Sega)

So, what's preventing you from becoming the first to come out with the first Filipina digital diva?

And who will bring Hatsune and company for a show here in the Phils?

Here's the other voice file doing her songs. More catchy beat. I was able to get a copy of the full live concert and it does look great.

hatsune's starting to show up on mainstream us news simply because she did something before that tupac just did a couple of days ago - to show up as a hologram on stage.

Thanks for sharing. I have been a fan of Miku for years and have her as my desktop walpaper (pix from past post HERE)

Interesting - I was just using her last nite in the studio.

Here is some TV commericals she was in last year for Toyota.

That has actually been one of my favorite vocaloid songs. I would love to hear OPM vocaloid music very soon ! (takes a LOT of time to make the sounds, but NICE results can happen!)

I just noticed your photo of Vocaloid 3 box..

I am still using version 2 and hope to hear from anyone using version 3. The new version 'engine' upgrade is 5k peso but im not sure if there is much change to the voices?

Fav full music video of Miku. I think my heart stops beating the entire 4 minutes 50 seconds when I watch this video
Just remember when listening. 100% of the vocals are synthesizers... completely electronic... it is amazing when masters like the ones below make her work...

    The matrix meets Vocaloid (below)
    INCREDIBLE !

Since it was mentioned - you can see my personal friend Tupac performing LIVE April 2012. I actually completely quit music when he died (long time since I have active been in the music scene) - as he promised me a collaboration track that same year - very sad. His old bandmate Dr. Dre insisted they use Vocaloid type hologram technology to bring him back to life and shock the world. That performance from a few days ago can be seen here (for reference only, but Miku did it in live concerts before Tupac)

    caution lyrics, of course
