they still fly to kalibo, but not caticlan
I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news
But she just smiled and turned away

    Hi,

I just purchased a ticket for Caticlan from Cebupac(they have an ongoing promo of piso fare w/ 0 surcharge) for 2 pax and it goes for an amount of 985 pesos w/ baggage allowance

    1. If you're hoping to get a flight on sale, try to tune in for any announcement re: sales/ promo fares nearing holidays. Cebu Pac and Airphil usually give promo fares during those days like the 99% off during Labor day. AFAIK, the recent Piso Fare Promo doesn't cover the travel period you're interested in. Check the airline's site from time to time, they do have "unannounced" sales. I once checked Airphil's fare from Caticlan to Manila and I noticed that that day's particular fare is much cheaper than the usual.

    2. My last 2 flights to Caticlan were via Seair. I wonder why they changed to Kalibo--the size of their plane can be accommodated by the Caticlan airport. Probably to keep their fares cheaper?

That sucks! The price difference between kalibo & caticlan flights are too big to ignore! What if you already arranged transfers with the hotel via Caticlan? That's another gastos

I rode Air Phil back home from Boracay. Paid Caticlan fare and got diverted to Kalibo. Although they provided transportation from Caticlan airport to KLO, I still paid for Caticlan fare. Sucked.

I think the airline companies think that in those situations, they can mend it by giving free transpo, free meals etc. Hello, there's no free anything to pay for the loss time and inconvenience in late and diverted flights. Now I'm half-dreading our Boracay trip this October . Got a 99% off Cebu Pac flight to Caticlan and an Airphil flight back to Manila.

Hassle-free flights from AirAsia. But the downside is that you have to go all the way to Clark 'cause that's currently the only airport they arrive and depart from.
