making apps
Whoops sorry i wasnt aware of that thread! Thanks!
Yup since we're here, id like to ask if there are game developers here in the philippines?
Oh and is it expensive to make apps? Like even simple game apps, like card games or puzzle games?
Thanks!

Re: making apps
I think we can make this a thread for "Designing UI for iOS Apps" since the other thread is for technical/developers, lets make this thread for us "designers" and "usability analysts"
I myself is a Usability Engineer and have designed UI/Graphics and Icons for freelance developers, right now in my office I and my team handle the User Interface, Usability and User Experience analysis and design for all of our business software applications for iOS and Droid.
All I can say is its not that really complex to "design" the graphics of an application for iDevices, the challenge comes in when you have to design the "usability" and "user experience".

can i ask a question rockophoria ? would you know if apps cost a lot to make? meaning, you can self-fund it ? or do you need to have investors/partners? im referring to simple apps

i actually dream of making simple game apps, do you think they are possible ?
tia

nope, all you have to do is register/download the Apple iOS SDK and you are all set.. but I think you have to pay Apple if you want the ability to install your app in your iDevice, since downloading alone will limit you to a simulated iPhone environment in your Mac.
anybody can make an app, specially if you have both the design talent and technical skills, meaning you can both design the graphics and do the codes.. which is an exceptional mix of skill and talent.

Re: making apps
pochiman: That is correct. You can also try downloading Xcode first from Mac App Store and try running apps in the simulator before registering so you can postpone the 99 USD/yr fee until you already have a running application.

paul_sns said it right, you might want to use the simulator first atleast you wont have to pay anything..
