Move over Flash, not too far away though. At least not yet.

screwed, yes. dead, probably not. flash is the only adobe product that will be adversely affected by this. photoshop, indesign, etc. are still staples in the creative/production houses.

i hope apple announces an html 5 authoring/development tool at WWDC next week, although html 5's youth makes that unlikely.

any good html 5 tools out there, aside from dreamweaver?

Panic's Coda is a pretty good editor. Its not as wysiwyg-y as Dreamweaver though.

I actually emailed Steve Jobs this morning asking him if they have something similar to Dreamweaver for HTML 5 in the pipeline. Asa pa if he replies. Hehe.

If you do web development and need to do HTML 5, all you need is a good reference book (or a good reference site) and a nice text editor. No need for fancy expensive apps like Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver may give you a lot of very bad habits if you rely too much on its wysiwyg features.

I tried going to the site, and clicking on one of the demos.

"You'll need to download Safari to view one of these demos."

Yup. That sounds like Apple's definition of "web standards" alright.

Easy now... Trying this on my iPad using Atomic Browser and it's working fine.

True. For coders. Hey, I used to code HTML 1.0 using NotePad!

But not all are coders. You can't expect pros in the visual field (layout artists, graphic designers, publishers, etc.) to code from scratch. Not everyone's hardcore.
