Default Need help in using an old Yamaha keyboard as a keyboard controller

I wanted to know if an old Yamaha keyboard (PSR 620), which has a midi interface feature (there is a midi jacks/midi in/out found at the back) can be used as a keyboard controller for a MacBook Pro? What accessories do I need to connect it?

Yes! Just use a USB to MIDI interface. Some reputable brands are Yamaha UX16 and Edirol UM-1EX. I use the latter

wow, Thanks! i purchased the keyboard 16 years ago and I never thought that it is still possible to connect it with the computer. I'll try to check UX16 in Yamaha stores.

    You're welcome, and good luck.

Also, Garage Band has built-in instruments you can use so instead of using your keyboard's sounds, you can use the Garage Band's built-in patches. Have fun!
