More and more musicians going portable via iPad :-)
With the currently held Winter NAMM 2012, I see potential of the iPad as a great tool for us musicians...There are so many great apps for music productions now.
I feel like integrating the iPad with the MacBook Pro for live gigs using them both on stage but separately between songs...
I just wish more and more controllers will come out for the iPad. Akai started the revolution already.

Re: More and more musicians going portable via iPad :-)
For me, the lack of tactile control will be the ipad's main hindrance for it to become a mainstream performance tool. It's just different turning a knob versus sliding your finger on a touchscreen. It might, however, work fine if the controls you need are limited to just triggers or anything related to pressing a button. But if the control requires precision (e.g. a pitch slider), it just wont cut it.

Speaking of tactile control, would anybody know if the Akai Synthstation 49 is locally available?

are you guys using your ipads as your official DAW?
Life was much simpler when Apple and Blackberry were just fruits.

Is this thread still active?
Thinking of turning my iPad into a production tool.
What you guys think about FL studio on iPad or the Akai MPC Fly?

Currently use the Apogee Jam with my phone and iPad. Great results so far with the Ampkit app and Garageband. It's amazing how something so portable can accomplish all this. It's nice for practicing when you're away from home or late at night.
Works nicely with the Macbooks as well.
