difference between studio-referencing and DJ headphones
any inputs friends?ö
i'm wondering about their basic differences like, of course, pricing and quality.ö
also thinking of using these as daily headphones aside from my zumreed cans.
and then there's the budget (P3.5k max) and availability in local stores (not willing to buy from the internet)
thanks much! =)

Re: difference between studio-referencing and DJ headphones
you won't get far with 3.5k bro... probably the senn hd 205 @ 2.5k but don't expect it to be "reference-grade". i don't really know the difference bet the reference types and the dj headphones but i use dj headphones that have a pretty flat response when compared to entry level reference monitors like my bx8a. i personally use the allen & heath xd-53 or sony mdr-v700.
I just like music... Especially those with nice beats...

for 2.5k-3.5k you can get an Audio Technica studio reference (flat response) headphone, also saw an AKG brand for that price. consumer models, not top of the line pro quality, but will do.
bought one of each for our high school recording studio

audio technica was formerly carried by Audiophile, but maybe not anymore. Try them or JB Music. I got the AKG from a store near Mobile 1 in greenbelt/parksquare, can't remember anymore what store it was... my memory is getting bad... :slanted:

Re: difference between studio-referencing and DJ headphones
The purpose of DJ and Studio are so different. DJ headphones work in a club environment so sensitivity is important. DJ headphones have to be able to go LOUD to make sabay with the club sound system. Tonal quality can be flat or leaning towards being bassy (djs rely on beat to mix). Studio headphones would tent to sound very flat and neutral a to most accurately reproduce the sound being played.
