Anyone here using a Mackie ProFX8 or the like?
I'm contemplating on getting a Mackie ProFX8 and hook up our videoke system to it plus shure mics then record to my MBP. Question is, the ProFX is said to have a whine when using its USB line for recording in Windows.
Does this happen in MAC as well? Anyone knows?
If it is then damn, i might go for another brand. I'm considering the following:
1) Behringer Xenyx X1204USB - around P13k+. However, I've heard bad things about Behringer such that their preamp isn't good at all, etc.
2) Soundcraft = There's no small footprint mixer that can do accomodate only 2 mics and 2 input as well as a USB interface for recording
3) Allen & Heath Zed10 = Reviews seems good but I don't think they're availabel here in the Philippines.... or are they? J&B only has the big ones in their websites
Anything else?
So far, what i'm interested in getting now is a mixer that can do the following:
1) handle at least 2 mics (actually 2 mics is all I need)
2) has "effects" such as delay/echo/etc to make vocals sound better
3) has USB so that I can record our videoke sessions on my Macbook Pro laptop
4) smaller footprint the better
