Default The New Final Cut Pro - summer of 2011

Its been quiet here for some time. Just to excite muggers that Apple is actually working on pro apps again and has not completely forgotten the creative industry in exchange for the consumer i-products...

    Here is FCP for 2011

Well, Apple should be working on the Pro Apps again, as their competitors have upped the ante since late 2009. They've got the new MacBook Pros (those with the Sandy Bridge architecture and Thunderbolt I/O) and the Mac Pro. Plus we've got Sony and RED with their new video camera systems.

The new FCS will be perhaps, 64-bit (that's a hot request of Final Cutters ever since). This update will boast a new architecture and a new UI (source). Perhaps even more support for raw video and a much better ProRes suite.

Apple will (probably) debut the new FCP on April 12, as what TUAW posted:

"Apple will be using the Vegas Supermeet to announce the next version of Final Cut Pro. Supposedly, Apple will be taking over the entire event for their announcement, canceling all other sponsors, including AJA, Avid, Canon, BlackMagic, Autodesk and others, who were set to give presentations."

And yeah, exciting times for broadcast/film production.
