Default 8mm app counterpart for iMovie

Hi guys. Been searching for a plug in for iMovie that can make my clip have that vintage film feel or a bleach bypass look.

Im looking for something similar to 8mm app but instead of using it on iPhone I want to have the same plug in for my iMac.

Not yet confident enough to use the more professional software like final cut pro.

Thanks for your time and hope you guys can suggest a plug in for this

Actually if you have some background in iMovie, Final Cut Pro X is really easy. Professionals hate it but for people who want to use a simple program to produce professional looking videos it is actually very good. Especially the price is just 300 USD. Very cheap.

If my mom can put together a nice home video using Final Cut Pro X with just an hour of tutelage then so can you.

iMovie is pretty easy to use, i learned using it without looking over tutorials, i just need to feel the app

    Yet, works for me.

Sure FCPX can definitely accept plugins. I bought a few myself, just do some googling and you will encounter a handful of thirdparty plugs ins available. Take note that FCPX is still relatively new so the offerings are not as abundant as let say Premiere or Final Cut Pro 7.

If you want a vintage film feel FCPX has lots of built in filters so I suggest you download the trial first and check out the filters before thinking of purchasing a third party plugin

But imovie already has built in effects like sepia, old film and black and white, wouldn't that suffice for your purpose?

@DATC, I've tried the effects but I didn't like the color rendition. I'm looking for a more organic look similar to cross process look or a bleach bypass look

Try colorgradingcentral.com for tutorials and filters. I know they have a beautiful bleach bypass filter for fcpx for a price
