Weight Management Program
Just curious from other muggers here. Have you tried any weight management program that is no rebound and healthier lifestyle without depended on the program forever? If so, kindly share.
Do you have any secrets of losing weight without sacrificing of dieting or exercise? How can you manage your health problem (such as high cholesterol, uric acid, stress, etc) while you're fit or you start to lose weight.
There are lots of weight management program that claims about lose weight fast (lose weight in short term but health risk in long term) but didn't have sufficiently clinical proofs about this. Any idea?
if you ask me, i prefer to get a program that has long term health benefits.
having a body healthy fit is a trend nowadays.
thanks! : )

This.
You will always sacrifice something to lose weight. Following diets and/or exercise regimens yield faster results but require discipline and time and makes an abrupt and drastic change to your lifestyle.
If you want to lose weight but not expend too much effort or make a radical change in your habits, you could do small things like these. You'll lose weight very slowly but you'll get there.

Re: Weight Management Program
Unfortunately, the secret to maintaining a healthy weight is: diet and exercise. It's true. I underwent a program by a known weightloss doctor (pm me for details) wherein I lost 80lbs+. Unforuntely, I gained SOME of the weight after (just a couple of pounds) since I don't know how to maintain it.
However, discipline helped me lose those pounds.
These worked for me:
1. Calorie counting (hassle but scientific -- foods aren't limited, just manage the calories)
2. Drink TONS of water (made me feel full til I can't eat. Ha ha!)
3. Not eating after 6pm (don't do it anymore though. Eep lost the discipline to do so.. I sleep very late as well. Maybe you can adjust this depending on the time you sleep)
4. Avoid mindless snacking. -- limit your intake to 5 small meals a day or 3 big meals (I prefer a few meals since I can track the calories more easily BUT according to research small frequent meals boosts metabolism)
5. Exercise! Yeap! Tone your muscles and burn fat. Once you get into the habit, you'll look for it. Unfortunately, I lost the habit.

Here's my reply to the TS,
I realized it might be helpful to the community to post it here too.
"Hi!
I've recently enrolled in a wellness program that actually answers your concerns.
Since I got married, I went as high as 196lbs with a lot of body fat.
My friend and I went to HK and Singapore to study the wellness program that they are implementing there, and we have brought it to the Philippines.
Losing weight is a side-effect, not the actual target. The target of the program is to return your body to Optimal Wellness and convert your body fats to muscles.
It has no rebound and no dieting required.
Feel free to contact me so I can connect you with one of our Wellness coaches. (",) "
PM me your inquiries and I'll send you my contact info.
Have a blessed week!

Re: Weight Management Program
It's hard to expect "results" without sacrificing anything - even without formally dieting or exercising. I managed to lose weight by:
1. Eating smaller plates AND eating more frequently throughout the day
2. Walking up/down the stairs instead of taking the escalator/elevator when I only need to go up one or two flights
3. Avoiding fast food and making smart substitutions when eating out (turkey burger instead of a beef patty, for example - or ordering pasta with a tomato based sauce instead of a cream-based one)
4. Cutting empty calories - soda, powdered juice drinks. In fact, water only - I gave up my regular mocha
5. Rewarding myself every now and then so I never felt like I was deprived. Maybe this is what will make it less of a sacrifice
It may be "old school" but the best way to a healthy self is proper diet/nutrition + exercise. If you lose weight too drastically without exercising, your skin will be loose/sag! You don't want that either.
Also keep in mind that it isn't just the number on the scale that matters. As you convert fat into muscle, you may not see the number change, but you will be leaner -- muscle weighs more than fat does.
*** Shouldn't this be in the fitness thread?

Re: Weight Management Program
This is the two things that I just do,
1. Exercise at least thrice a week
2. Eating healthy foods (no soda, junk foods, no pork, no fatty foods, no processed food)
