    For me:

    8. WiFi in the coffeeshop I go to has a sustained download speed of 2.0-2.2Mb/s. I can download a 500MB TV Show from iTunes in about 30 minutes.

Coffee stimulates the body and the brain. With the right choice of coffee shop, the environment can be much quieter than at a traditional 'office' or even than at home (where kids, chores or the TV can serve as distractions).

Also, certain coffee shops (not the big chains) offer free wifi, often faster than what you can get with residential lines, and with less restrictions that office networks.

Finally, if you're lucky you can find a spot that's open air but fresh (not beside a busy street), or has lot of windows and a relaxing view.

the sweet aroma of coffee stimulates ideas so when I need a boost I'd bring my laptop for my 'coffee break'. Raf C's suggestion sometimes apply too

For me, I do work faster in a coffee shop. No co-workers, friends, family members to bother me. It's a perfect spot for beating deadlines.

Well, we call our library the "starbucks" room and the partners have been talking about getting a coffee machine to give it a real coffee shop ambience.

I'm in training last week (and this coming week too) and the relatively fast wi-fi access at SBUX Pearl Drive (in the morning) and Tektite (during lunchtime) helps me to catch up with my emails at work.

Apart from that, surfing the 'net in a coffeeshop is a great way to pass the time whenever I'm waiting on the wife whenever she's shopping
