Got an Apple ][ in the early 80s. For writing and statistical analysis(!) in school. Later a Mac Classic.

I got into Macs for the sole purpose of doing work on it while on the road. Audio recording/editing to be exact, and it has proven its worth countless times.

Being a late bloomer, my first Mac is a 12" Albook.

My first Apple was a II+ clone back in December of '85. Used it mainly for games, some 3d animation, word processing and graphic design/dtp. First saw a Mac (running MacPaint) on a local computer shop back then. Lusted for a Mac through the magazines in '87. Finally bought one on Feb 2003.

    This is soo dejavu...

Got into Macs cause of iMovie. Best simple to use video editing app for beginners, intermediary and experts. Then it branched out to other things.

1986, graduate school at the u. of michigan. found 4,000 macs for 40,000 students, available 24/7 with free laserprinting. 18 years later, still a dream at UP

    What made me switch?

A good friend of mine (and now my Mac-mentor) named Myles made me switch to Mac... and I'm proud to say that it was a best decision one can made and I looooooooooovvvvveeee it!!!

And lately, I'm "persuading" some of my friends to switch too... Sabi ko nga before "I'm propagating the glory that Macs can bring!"

Also, my kind of work calls for it since most people know how great it is to do graphics sa Mac

Plus, it's a good investment, right? Kahit may dent na at nagchip-off yung paint ng TiBook ko I'll be having a hard time letting it go.

    When did I switched?

Jan. 7, 2002 I think... once I got my hands on my TiBook (first time ko pang ma-experience ang snow nu'n sa States)

    My first mac?
A 15" TiBook and I still have it till now  Parang anak ko na 'ton eh, first Mac computer that I got... it's my "baby", hopefully my first-born (kasi wish ko masundan pa)

Made the switch last November (2003). I tried out several iBooks and found that I really like the interface and display.

wrote my thesis on a Mac back in '92 which was followed by a long, dark period of PC use  Then I purchased Charlie's iBook about a year ago, loved it, and got an albook. I've been a great big Mac b.i. ever since :haha:
