    Default How many GBs of storage do you have?

    I recall the days when my system drive was only 1 gig, with the presence of the big 360Kb capacity 5.25" floppy disk. And years later when the Zip drive 100mb cartirdge was introduced - Whoooa! Hayop yan ahh!

    With technology advancements thru the years, storage space has become bigger in smaller packages- 4Gb CF cards, 80Gb 2.5" drives, 40Gb iPod, 1Gb SD card etc...We see these used with all our gadgets - laptop, PDA, digital camera, mp3 player. And these are just our portable devices, what more with our desktops - external drives like the Lacie 250Gb, recent SATA drives, not to mention connection to an office server!

    I am sure that we will be surprised to realize how many Gigs of data we both carry around, and have in our desktops. Let's not include servers and networks to limit this. I will start-

    Home Desktop
    Internet PC: 40gb
    5.25" Drivebay: 40gb
    External 5.25 firewire drive:80gb
    TOTAL: 160gb

    Studio Office Desktop
    System drive: 40gb
    Drive D and E: 80gb
    5.25" Drivebay: 40gb
    TOTAL: 160gb

    Mobile setup
    Albook 17" 1.33: 80Gb
    iPod: 40Gb
    External portable firewire: 60Gb
    Toshiba P-25 17": 80Gb
    External Usb/Firewire drive: 80Gb
    Microdrive: 1Gb
    TOTAL: 341gb! Whew!

    Desktop Mac: 80gb, with external 80gb FW drive for 160gb total (with 40gb SCSI Raid-0 coming soon! Thanks again, Bob!)
    Powerbook: 60gb
    iBook: 10gb
    iPod: 20gb
    Desktop PC :sick: : 120gb online (80gb in Raid-0 config) , with 4 non-hotswappable external 40gb ATAPI drives (280gb total)
    Sony Vaio :sick: : 10gb

    That's over half a terabyte of storage all in all. Damn, what do I need all of that for? :brick:

    200GB total (80GB + 120GB). I think I'm gonna need an additional 120GB in the near future. Good thing my MDD Power Mac still has space for a couple more hard drives. :-)

    PMG4-867 :
    -> 60g + 40g + 120g = 220g
    PMG4-733 :
    -> 40g + 80g = 120g

    iMac DV FP = 40g
    12"Albook =40g
    PB Lombard = 30g
    Cutie Firewire = 30g
    USB Pockey = 10g
    Imagetank = 30g

    PCz No1 = 60g + 80g + 80g = 220g
    PCz No2 = 30g + 80 (Two 40g in PCI IDE Raid 0) + 10g

    Still I need more... next project is a firewire external RAID enclosure with two 120gb drive with 8mb cache or just a PCI IDE RAID for the PMG4 867. This really ain't enough when handling dv files/projects.

    If the Lord will provide... sell the two G4's and get a dual G5!!! (partly a dream) and start all over again using SATA drives :haha:

    20GB iPod

    Powermac- 80GB + 120GB
