Default REPAIR: 110v plugged into 220v

I just received the Sonic Boom Alarm Clock (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...2Y7EFTQGQ690V9) from the States. I was so excited to test it out that I immediately plugged it into the socket. I only realized it was a 110v unit when smoke came out of it. Now, the alarm clock does not even turn on.

Do you know any electronic place or any electrician in the Philippines who can fix / repair this kind of problem?

It's too much of a hassle for me to send it back to the states for repair considering the damage is not covered by the warranty.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Does the alarm clock come with an external power supply/AC adapter?
If yes, you can probably buy those multi-volt AC adapters from ACE/True Value.

i suggest you bring it to an electrician. If you have the time, a trip to raon will be well worth it

No one could repair those kind of electronic devices especially the one that you have.

Even the greatest electrician would end up spend buying a brand new item for the electronic elements which are already busted.

    Sorry for your loss.

and yes, your warranty is void.

i think electrician can fix that. try to have it check and tell him to change the transformer inside to 220V.
hope only the power supply was affected

Changing the transformer will do nothing because the circuit are already busted and electronic elements like the capacitors, resistors, diodes etc.

yes. It does have an external AC adapter. I'm just worried if the parts inside are already busted beyond repair.

if the alarm clock has a ac adapter, thats a saving grace. You can probably replace it.

Raon is near Quiapo and its along Quezon Boulevard

You can get universal adapter for sure. Just ask trusty people there.

You can see the Raon Shopping Center.
