Default LED TV as external monitor

Hi, I use a monitor connected to my iMac in office as 2nd monitor (extended desktop),
it is now dying on me, I have to reboot it by unplug and plug in again to power outlet time to time when it sleep, don't know why.

was thinking buying a large LED TV (may be 32 inches) to replace it, will it be good as extended desktop or as main desktop? or the LED TV is still not good to be use as monitor for Mac?

in case its ok, will 32 in too big? hehe! any recommended brand or model?

or what is the cheap & good monitor to get if LED TV still can't replace monitor?

just want to have a big desktop for everything, I now use the iMac monitor as email desktop only

Default Re: LED TV as external monitor

If I were you, I would get an IPS monitor... - this is better than LED monitors which commonly has TN panels (comes with a steeper price though)

    I would suggest:

    23-inches: Dell U2311H
    24-inches: Dell U2410
    27-inches: Dell U2711

now, if you plan to get a LED monitor (TN), get one that has a Glossy Display... if you will place it beside your iMac, you cant help but compare them. And the difference between matte and glossy is night and day.

keep it at 27-inches max... but 32-inch is still fine. Anything beyond 32 inches would cause dizziness / eye strain. Most LED TVs only have 1920 X 1080 display. With that resolution, it's sort of "short" for anything bigger than 32-inches for computer use.
