Default Heads up: 4GB DDR3 1066 and 1333 RAM now only USD45 at MemoryTen

A year ago these things were priced at around $300 a piece. MemoryTen has long been my online go-to for RAM.

This RAM is compatible with all current Macs:
is it? - can you use those with Macs running DDR3 1333Mhz RAMs?

Yes, you can install a 1066MHz module in a Mac that's currently running 1333MHz RAM. You can even combine a 1066 with a 1333.

wouldn't that cause any problem? - I actually prefer 1066Mhz over 1333Mhz for tighter timings.

Yes, but Not the other way around. i've read that if using faster RAMs (1333MHz) on 1066MHz machines, it will be clocked down to 1066MHz
This happens. This is an anagram.

Actually, I already have 8GB - 2X4GB DDR3 1066Mhz sticks which is relatively new... and I'm contemplating on upgrading to newer MBP15 (which has 1333Mhz sticks by default) and I don't want to just ditch my sticks for a couple of reasons:

    1) added expense
    2) availability of an Apple Certified 8GB kit of 1333Mhz sticks
    3) as mentioned, tighter timings

    Thanks!

The Corsair DDR3 1333 8GB kit from Amazon is only $83.00. It's best to use them on 2011 MBPs.

I love it when RAM is cheap.

    Nice.

Did you notice an increase in performance or was it about the same?

Researched the question I threw at Elbert and found this:

Looks like I'm headed for 8 gigs. I'm hitting 3.65 gig usage of RAM on average LOL.
