I read somewhere that using rechargeable batteries for our MM or other wireless device for that matter is not good for our batteries since rechargeable batteries where built not for slow draining which our wireless device does. But I've been using eneloops for my MM and they last more than a month of daily use of at least 6 hours.

Eneloops have slow self discharge. They are perfect for standby devices like mice. Slow draining isn't bad for ANY rechargeable battery. Ordinary nicd or nimh batteries are not ideal for standby devices because they would have drained sooner than you want. Now that's bad.

Eneloops have a "lite" version specific for "low drain" devices such as t.v. remote controls.

Is the apple magic mouse considered a slow draining device?

    Thanks!

Hmm maybe something new is coming out.

The Magic Mouse consumes very little power. It also goes to sleep when not used. There is still power used when on standby but no more than that on tv remotes. It uses maximum power when it is used.

Again, low draining appliances are not a concern for rechargeable batteries. High amps, heat, and overcharging kills batteries. The worse thing that can happen to an unused nimh or nicd battery is they lose charge over time. LSD nimh lose very little charge. Product claims up to 80% charge after one year storage. That is impressive.

It was available at first (October last year), but Apple had to cancel my order. They sent me an e-mail and these were the exact words: "Due to Philippines government customs requirement, we are unable to sell standalone wireless mice and wireless keyboards. We have had to cancel the product from your order." PITA, right?

you mean on apple online store philippines? as far as i remember, since the release of magic mouse, it was not listed on online store particularly on our country due to bluetooth issue required by national telecommunications commission.

Most local Apple resellers have them. I see no reason to buy online. I got mine from Senco Link, Morato Ave., QC.

Help guys, every time I touch my magic mouse with three fingers it just stops working. I can't use magic prefs with it and it's quite irritating. Should I have it replaced?
