Squeaky Iphone 4 Home Button (Globe issued)

Hi guys, I am one of the fortunate subscribers who was granted a unit last September 26, 2010 at the Makati Shang launch.

However, few days after using the iphone I noticed a cosmetic defect. I tried comparing it with other iphone 4 units but others does not exhibit this kind of defect.

The home button is slightly wiggly and squeaky. It produces this 'creaky' sound if touching the button in a certain manner.

It doesn't affect the overall performance in a way but I am a bit bothered considering the home button is the most abused button and this might contribute to shorter wear and tear of the device.

Am I just being overly OC about this? I tried reporting it to Globe already since I know we're entitled to 7days replacement but we'll see how they'll response to this.

Any others who experience this issue?

we don't have that issue but my friend's phone has a different issue it is turning off by itself. this has happened twice already. what's up with these globe phones?i thought they went through quality control..? we called them to ask for replacement and they said that they didn't know when the replacement unit will come if ever we order it but they are sure that it will take time..

My friend has another home button issue with his SG iPhone 4, you need to press it really hard before it recognizes the tap. My suggestion is you get it replaced ASAP, you will be using the home button a lot especially the double tap to close open processes

have it replaced but it will take some time to get one from Globe. There's a deluge of clients trying to get a new iPhone 4.

Thanks guys reported to Globe already.

Actually there's no problem when pressing the button but
when you look really closely as in being the OC type then you'll notice. My brother kidded me though that it's no biggie & it's not even noticeable at all, but then I want my phone to be perfect as it should be.

Now let's see how Globe responds to it's after sales.

The iPhone 4 is very expensive and you should get a 'perfect' phone for the money you're paying.

They will replace not sure when the replacement unit arrives though.
But they committed 1-2wks.

I have this issue too.
When i touch the home button and move my finger left and right, the button also moves, parang maluwang.

How should it really feel like? Stiff and sturdy?
I went to Globe and they said that its normal and their demo phone is also squeaky.
