Sharing Solution to iPhone Freezing, Not Booting Up After Deleting All Data
Hi guys! My brother's iPhone 4 got me busy today when he couldn't boot it up after deleting data. All he gets is the apple symbol and the spinning circle. It also doesn't mount on the computer. His phone is jailbroken. I Googled and found the solution at macrumors.com. To save you people the trouble just in case the same thing happens to you (God forbid!), here's how to solve it:
1. Do a hard reset on the iPhone by pressing the home and the power buttons at the same time until the phone shuts down.
2. Open iTunes in your home computer and connect the USB cable. DO NOT PLUG THE PHONE YET.
3. On the phone, press and hold the home button for 10 seconds then plug the 30-pin connector.
4. Continue hold pressing the home button until you see the iPhone mount on your iTunes and the Connect to iTunes symbol in the phone.
5. At this point, iTunes will tell you to restore the phone.
6. iTunes will download the recent software for the phone. This will take some time.
7. After downloading the software, iTunes will restore iOS on your phone.
My brother swears he will never jailbreak his iPhone again.

Too little too late for me. I did this with my iPhone and got the same issue but I just reloaded the firmware when it got stuck by entering the idevice into DFU mode.

My iPhone 4 is not jailbroken, but I will definitely keep this info just in case. Thanks for the heads up on this fix.
