ipod as flash drive

hi, i'm not familiar with shuffle and ipod nano, havent used them ever since but i need one now for my runs. just curious, can i use the nano/shuffle (all generations) as flash drives, are they plug and play similar to an ipod classic? thanks in advance

I remember they have an option "Use as Disk" ro something like that, I did one time on my iPod Nano.
