Default iPhone 4 on Smart Mobile Internet Plan, is it any good??

I spent a good hour or so trying to search for a similar thread or a glimpse of discussion on this matter but really can't find one.

I inquired at Smart Rockwell on the possibility of subscribing to Smart's Mobile Internet Plan 1500 (unli internet, 60mins calls, 120sms). Is it any different compared to Gold Lite 300 + Unlisurf 1200?

Any feedback on this plan? Or better yet, any iPhone 4 user who's under this plan?

Default iPhone 4 on Smart Mobile Internet Plan, is it any good??

If I'm not mistaken, Smart caps your bandwidth to 1.5GB/month which is too small to ignore compared to Globe's 800MB/day ~ 24GB/month.

Please correct me if I'm wrong

You might want to provide more details on how much you use your line. Whether you are a heavy "calls" user or more of a texter. Both plans seems to have the same "UNLI" internet.

Also, are you not entertaining other network providers? The user experience is relative to the availability of a 3G network. I am currently using a Globe plan and experience is average. I am mostly mobile and can't get a consistent 3G signal. I heard, if you are going to use this in Metro Manila, Sun is the most logical choice, if it is nationwide then Smart. Best is still to go to a business center of the network to check if the areas you frequent are covered.

I should have given more info to add context. Anyway, I am already using postpaid lines from both Globe and Sun.

On Globe (business line) is on GFlex 1800+BB Max+SuperDuo, can't let this go since I use BridgeDataRoam when I travel within asia at least once a month for business specially with the release of the unlimited data roaming of $10/day.

On Sun, its on Call and Surf Unlimited 999 (fbband apn). I am trying to have this disconnected for ages since it always gets the "No Service" or "SIM registration failed" even if its on the iPhone 4. My lock-in period won't be until Oct 2011. So for now it's on my iPad 3G, if it does work and has full signal, internet is blazing fast.

For Smart, my only experience with them is Wifey's SmartBro 999 Plan SIM Only. Even then, the Smart frontliners are insisting that push email isn't included and that it will be charged on top. Up to know, I don't understand what they were saying. Care to shed some light?

That's is why I am asking on any feedbacks since this might also be the case with their Smart Mobile Internet Plans. Are there any restrictions not readily available? I understand the 1.5GB/month cap has some exclusions but Smart can't elaborate.

The 1.5GB/month cap has some exclusions according to Smart Rockwell frontliners. They were insisting that some services that connect to the internet (social media apps, BBM, push-emails) are not included in the cap. I am puzzled by this and even asking them if they have a list of approved exclusions but they redirect the discussion that their cap is more generous compared to Globe's 800MB/day which already considers all data traffic.

I got the same answer from Smart before and I got confused myself. But as we all know it Push Email is not a function of the ISP (I think). They might have been confused with a BB plan.

It seems that you have all networks covered. SUN will yield a "failure" prompt since it does not have the 3G signal that you are forcing it use. Not all cell sites have 3G thus the prompt. Do you get this prompt only on select locations or randomly?

I would recommend that you use the Sun sim with your iPhone 4. This will save you from getting another subscription. I think 3 lines are too much. But of course, that's me.

I am hoping a fellow mugger that has the Smart Mobile Internet Plan could shed light on this matter. That's what I am trying to explain to Smart frontliners. That they might be mixing the BB Push Email from the email app in any other phone. The issue also gets confusing since they also have the Nokia messaging plan.

Data connection on the iPhone is useless if its snail-paced and SUN on EGDE (or lower) simply won't cut it.

But I am not going to get another subscription if I am not sure what I am getting into. For now, I have no choice but to keep my SUN until October but if the Smart issue gets any clearer then I'll subscribe in a heartbeat and just delegate the SUN CSU to my iPad until I can have it cut.

    Thanks, Sabonis!

    @Reloaded,

I am very sure that there are people from Smart in this forum. Let's wait for their replies. I am also interested to know this since I am a Smart postpaid plan subscriber myself.

I know someone who is subscribed to this P1500-plan for his iPhone3Gs. He's quite satisfied with it. Very useful for heavy twitting and mobile email (thru MS Exchange server).
