Hi Philmuggers,

I just couldn't locate some reference materials or online pages with Filipino/Tagalog translations of some English phrases/terms I need for a task.

Would appreciate help translating the sentences below:

1. Do you solemnly swear or affirm that you will tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?

2. You do solemnly state that the testimony you may give in the cause now pending before this court shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, under pains and penalties of perjury?

And, the equivalent of the terms/phrases below:

3. I do
4. Able and available
5. Compelling reason
6. For the record
7. Hearsay evidence
8. Remand
9. Sustain
10. To raise an objection
11. Wanton disregard
12. Willful false statement

When you translate, do not be burdened with a literal translation. You can translate in context.

"Ikaw ba ay nangangakong maging tapat sa iyong pananalaysay ng katotohanan , na walang bahid ng kasinungalingan, sa tulong ng Puong may Kapal?"

let me try the first one:

ikaw ba ay sumusumpa na iyong sasabihin ang katotohanan, ang buong katotohanan, at pawang katotohanan lamang, nawa'y tulungan ka ng Diyos?

number three would most probably be translated as "opo"

some of the other phrases must appear in the actual statement so as to be translated more accurately
