Now this is a pretty excellent mod. The new SATA interface of the DVD drive makes it easier to integrate a hard disk in its place and seems MCE already did. I'm sure intrepid folks at our neighboring Asian countries (HK and Taiwan) can cook up a cheaper alternative.

The swapped disk is even bootable. Imagine a 1TB MBP (500GB reg drive+ 500 on the ODD) or better yet swap the regular one with an SSD, fast booting and performance for your OS and you still have plenty of space for your stuff.

Gruesome but awesome at the same time, and you can push in up to 2TB inside your portable MBP. Hope someone makes the cable thing so we don't have to make our own.
