Default the new MBA: center balanced

Actually, this is true for all Apple laptops. Unbeknownst to many, when Apple designs and engineers their portables, they make sure that it's perfectly center-balanced.

It actually makes sense. These devices really need to be balanced because they would be flawed if they weren't. Imagine shifting the laptop from one hand to the other and finding out the hard way that it's actually heavier then you expected.

Here's my new 11" MBA proving that point:

center balancing kinda difficult to achieve, I should say. That's distributing all those different parts in such a way that the laptop balances itself. cool, apple! you continue to amaze me!

    Wow, that is something indeed.

Lemme try this though with my late 2008 MacBook aluminum unibody and the wife's mid-2010 MacBook polycarbonate unibody.

if it's not perfectly center, it's gonna be damn close. I've tested MacBooks and MBPs. Sometimes the center is at the bite of the Apple logo.
