About LinkBacksi just bought a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter to hook my mbp unibody to my samsung series 4 lcd tv. the problem is, the biggest resolution i get is just 800x600. but the tv says it's up to 1360x768. whenever i choose a screen size bigger than 800x600, it says mode not available. how can i make my resolution bigger? thanks.

i'm also have problem with my aluminum macbook and samsung series 4, what i can get is 1280 x 800 resolution and i cant get a full view because it has a gap on both sides. any suggestions?

Re: mbp on a samsung lcd tv I don't have my samsung display attached today cause I'm not at home, the only help I can suggest is, try to do the external display set-up, open the system preferences, then choose display option, then drag the menu bar to the second screen on your system prefs menu which is on your macbook primary display, try to use your Samsung as your primary display.

Re: mbp on a samsung lcd tv Your MBP has a full DVI port right? Might I suggest getting a long DVI to HDMI cable. Thats how I hook my iMac to my Samsung 40". Resolution is fantastic! Together with the optical out, it serves as a HTPC for those impossible to read AVIs movies

ok thanks now its on extended monitor mode running at 1280x768, 74.9 Hz. the problem now is, why cant i see my dock when it's position is set at the bottom but when it's set to the left i see it. TIA.
