About LinkBacksOS X lion is running Slow on my macbook 2008 with 3gb of RAM. I have decided to use my restore disks which would revert my OS to Leopard. But when I run disk utility during the install process, I cannot seem to access the Restore disk (to merge it with the rest of my startup disk). Is there a way to do this after I have installed Leopard?

Re: how to delete restore partition on os x Lion Fire up Terminal and activate the Debug Menu of Disk Utility:
defaults write com.apple.DiskUtility DUDebugMenuEnabled 1
Open Disk Utility. Click the Debug Menu and click List All Disks. You will see the EFI (disk0s1) and Lion Recovery Volumes (Recover HD.) Hidden drives are in grey.
Erase the Recovery HD. Do not erase the EFI partition.

Re: how to delete restore partition on os x Lion You can't just remove the Recovery HD partition while using it's Disk Utility. If you don't need your files from the standard Lion partition the fastest is boot from the DVD recovery or USB disk and then Erase the entire disk - not the partition. This will erase the files, delete all partitions and you have one single disk again, so you do not need to merge it back.
