iMac and SD Card Reader???

The sd card reader is not working... Is there a way to troubleshoot it? I don't see the icon on desktop as well.

try another sd card. if problem persists, contact an apple service center.

Did it work before, and now it doesn't? Or could it be the SD memory card is already damaged?
Maybe it's one of those really cheapo?
SD card readers are so cheap at V-Mall. You can buy one for about a P 100

Hi guys,

I think my problem with my iMac's SD card reader is a hardware issue (based from my research on the net)... I decided to bring it to dw-apple service center this Sat...

Here are my questions.. If you are in my situation... How will you prepare your iMac before the trip to the service center? Aside from using time machine what else will you do?.. I have some private photos (not scandadulous ) that I don't want to be viewed... Is it practical to transfer everything in an external HD and delete everything in my iMac. What is your workflow on this???


Is there a person that you can recommend aside from Charlie that I can talk to ???

Create a new user account and password protect yours. That way when the techs log on they can use the new account and won't see the private files on your own.

When you get it back you can delete the extra account.

i think even if you create a new account, if they remove your hd and install it in another 1 , they could still access your files.
