WIN 7 in OS X
good day, sirs,
i just like to know if anyone here tried running WIN 7 on OS X virtually (VM Ware Fusion)?
if yes, what are the issues you encountered during and after installation (driver compatibility, video, network, etc.)?
what else should i consider if i will run WIN 7 on top of OS X?
your inputs and suggestions will be very much appreciated.
thanks,
mickeyboi

Re: WIN 7 in OS X
I personally like installing Win 7 via Bootcamp. It works better for me. rebooting to Windows from OS X doesn't take much longer than starting Windows virtually in OS X. It's a better option for low resource Macs.
If you really want virtualization then Parallels 5 is the winner for me. It just makes me smile. It has excellent OS X integration. It also allows you to access a Bootcamp installed Windows from within OS X as an alternative. Best of both worlds.

^^What Mad Mac said, plus you don't have to shell out extra to buy a copy of Boot Camp. If you get Parallels, it's an additional purchase.

use Bootcamp drivers, I think the VMware Fusion also provide some drivers

Re: WIN 7 in OS X
i had my Win 7 installed via VM using VMWare 4 and Parallels 5, has no problems using VMWare to run Windows on Mac, the downside nga lng if ur a gamer or graphic artist the graphics rendering is slow,
if ur jez planning to run only Windows on Mac i would recommend Parallels, best virtual machine s/w to run Windows natively on Mac

Re: WIN 7 in OS X
I installed my Win 7 via Parallels 5... No problem with regards to driver installation... The only problem I have so far is that I only have 2GB of RAM... Its really slow when I open Win 7... Sir Mad Mac is right, Its better to use Bootcamp if you have low resources...
Distance between two points.

Re: WIN 7 in OS X
You can install Win 7 via Bootcamp and still use that alternatively with Parallels 5 for when you need Windows and OS X open at the same time. For major tasks, boot into the real Windows 7. The cool thing is any changes you make to Windows in Parallels take effect on your real installation too. For system update I recommend doing it in the real Windows.

Re: WIN 7 in OS X
I installed my Win7 using Bootcamp. But then I run my Win7 Bootcamp via VMware Fusion. I have a choice whether to run the Win7 via Bootcamp alone or by VMware in parallel with OS X.
