    Default iTunes 4.7 finds duplicates

    Did anyone notice? iTunes 4.7 has a new built-in duplicates finder. kewlness!

    haven't tried it myself but i think i'll try it today.
    my huge collection is bound to have duplicates
    somewhere...

    As mentioned in this thread it does not work with songs in an iPod.

    Yeah I agree this deserves its own thread. One would easily miss the other since it is about iTunes Dupe Barrier.

    Yep, it's a good feature and may be able to give you back some disk space. Found out I have a lot of duplicate songs, but I don't know if I should delete them because the songs are part of this compilation and that, or some other album. A better feature would be to have iTunes, when it finds the same exact duplicate song, offer the option to just "point" or refer to that particular song that it finds in another album. So we'll just have one song file even though it may be in a number of different albums.
