Default OS X Ain\'t Complete w/o this 3rd Party App

Ok, so what app should every mac user have? Let me start:

    (1) Launchbar. (Shareware) Like vic said, Apple should considering having this built into OS X. It's that good. Product description from their website:

LaunchBar is an award winning productivity utility that offers an amazingly intuitive and efficient way to control your computer. It provides instant access to thousands of documents, folders, bookmarks and email addresses, applications and preference panes just by entering short abbreviations of the searched item's name.

You just hit Command-Space to bring LaunchBar's input window to front, enter an arbitrary abbreviation, and as soon as you start typing LaunchBar displays the best matching choices, ready to be opened immediately.

    (2) Little Snitch. (Shareware) Concerned about the information that's going out of your computer? Do you hate applications that send user information (phoning home) without you knowing? Then this is the real deal. Product description from their website:

ou start an application that tells you that a new version is available. You suddenly realize that with every start this application connects to the developer's server. Even statistics information about your computer may be sent this way. Little Snitch helps you avoid this situation.

Trojan horses - i.e. programs transmitting unconsciously data stored on your computer - can be detected by Little Snitch and prevented on the transmission of data.

On a more general basis, network connections to certain servers can be denied.

    (3) Synergy (Shareware) is a tiny Cocoa application for Mac OS X 10.2 (and later) that puts three buttons to control iTunes in your menubar: previous track, next track, and play/pause; as well as providing you with visual feedback about the currently playing tune.

So what app can't you live without?

    Default Almost everything made by

Yellow Mug Software, especially Snap'N'Drag, YemuZip, and (for iDisk users) FileChute.

    Great little company.
