Crash courses on iOS app development here in manila?

Hi philmuggers. Im interested in app development for iOS but have no background whatsoever in programming. Do you guys know anyone here who offers training in the basics like xcode, openGL, objective c, cocoa etc. Just basics of all the essential stuff to start up at learning how to develop apps and games for iOS. Interested in starting up next year..will be buying an iPad and a mac this holiday bonus season.

funny that I saw your post as I just attended a one-day introductory seminar of sorts for iOS app development.

there's this new college called MINT College (it only started this month) which is the first school in the country which is offering degree a short course on iOS app development. classes for this course will actually start on Nov. 15 I believe so if you want to immerse yourself fully in that course, you may be interested in enrolling.

the college is at the Commerce and Industry Plaza Bldg., McKinley Hill in the Fort Bonifacio area. you can also check their website for more details at www.mintcollege.com

I was also looking for one. It's the one thing that keeps me from becoming a iOS app developer. Well, that, and the fact that my user ID first name is listed as MINDA. how can i change that? Anyone?

@kaboomerangle how much would the 8-month course cost?

it's P20K for that 8-month course.

actually the course itself has a beginner module, (for those who have no programming experience) intermediate as well as an advanced module if you want to learn the more advanced stuff, those 3 modules consist the whole 8-month, P20k course. so if you have programming knowledge already, you have the option to skip the beginner module which by itself is P8k.

nevertheless, I suggest you contact the college itself so they can give you the more complete details.

But what I'd like to know is, will the course be worth it or we can probably just self study with references? What you think, based on that one day seminar, @Kaboomerangle?
