Re: WIFI router.. what to recommend?
hi rockinrobin! the search feature can help you decide which one to get. practically all of the leading brands (and models) have already been discussed if not totally reviewed by members of the forum. it's probably just a matter of compatibility with your current DSL provider.
good luck on your search for that 'perfect' router.

I'm using Linksys as well. I have tthe WRT54G and it works great! I have one in the office, one at home and one at the shop. We've been using it for 3 years and no problems so far

Using a WRT54G for my home network as well. Had mine for more than 9 months already and no problems. The GS is a later model than the G, and has the SpeedBooster feature.

Re: WIFI router.. what to recommend?
I was deciding whether to buy the GS or the G model too. However, I believe that the speedbooster function wont be much help because the limiting factor is my smart bro which is way sllloowwww. So i just got the wrt54g.

D-Link is also a good brand. Been using one (DI-624+) for almost 2 years now and so far there have been no problems. My router is on 24/7.

have the same wrt54g
enter 192.168.1.1 in your browser
you will be prompted for a username and password
just enter admin as password (if you haven't changed it yet, no username)
click the wireless tab, then change the SSID
