Re: wifi doesn't work on me..
Do you mean he installed a wifi router? Is the router connected to the modem? Check if the internet indicator of your modem is lit.

From your first post, I'm getting that your mac is able to detect your router's network but you just can't connect to it. I need a little more details.
What happens when you select the network and try to connect to it? Is there any error message?

A few more questions to help figure out what is going on:
1. What is your set up (internet provider, wifi router, etc)?
2. Can you connect to the internet directly through the modem (mac to RJ45 cable to internet modem)
3. When you try to connect to the internet via wifi (using a browser like safari) what is the error message?

Try also checking if your brother did some changes to the wi-fi router setup. It could happen that he restricted wi-fi access to only some devices by defining specific MAC addresses of the devices.
This happened to a friend of mine. He removed the restriction and was able to connect via wi-fi since then.
