SMTP Directory
Hi folks. I think that it's important for us laptop users to know the SMTP addresses the various providers out there. Some connections don't allow the use of third party outgoing servers (i.e. .Mac, Gmail, Yahoo), so it's handy to have various SMTP addresses set up in Mail.
While we're at it, let's include SMTPs for prepaid ISPs as well.
Here are the ones I know:
Eastern: smtp.eastern.com.ph
Destiny: smtp.mydestiny.net
Globe (WIZ. GPRS): mail.globenet.com.ph
ISP Bonanza: smtp.ispbonanza.com.ph
Infocom/PLDT: smtp.info.com.ph or smtp.pldtdsl.net

I'm on PLDT DSL and during times when the Infocom and/or PLDTDSL SMTP fails, I use Gmail's. Of course, you need a gmail account.
smtp.gmail.com
requires SSL on port 465 and authentication using your user/pass

I'm trying to help a friend configure his email for use with SMART GPRS.
I tried using 292.57.96.3 as the SMTP server. Apparently it is not an SMTP server. Does anyone know what the SMTP for SMART GPRS is?
EDIT: I just tried smtp.info.com.ph and it worked.
SMART GPRS/EDGE SMTP is smtp.info.com.ph

For the i-manila users. We are doing some testing of SMTP auth systems so you can use your i-manila e-mail with anybody's access.
JBD can clue you in if you want to know the details since he's the one implementing this feature.

Does anyone know if the SMTP of SMART GPRS has (or will) change?
For now, smtp.info.com.ph it works, but since PLDT has replaced that for myDSL subscribers, I'm thinking they might be doing the same for Smart GPRS.
Thanks.

Here's an email I received from Mike Antigua of Airborne Access:
To be able to send email from a WiFi hotspot, set your SMTP to "smtp.airborneaccess.net".
If you still encounter problems in the hotspot, contact our tech support at 633-9434.
