SBW problem with Leopard
Hi again fellow muggers,
Has anybody had problem installing the Sun Broadband Wireless client application on Loepard?
I keep getting an "The application NetworkStatus quit unexpectedly." error everytime I start the application. Clicking the IGNORE button doesn't do anything because the message just keeps on popping up.
I know the modem (a HUAWEI E160) is working because my wife and I had tried it on all our Windows based computers (even via Bootcamp). I've also tried the Update from Sun Cell website, but I still keep getting the NetworkStatus error.
Can somebody help?
thanks in advance

I am in the market too for this and have gone through a thread discussing this extensively. You may want to read this if you still haven't.

I've gone through on most of the post on that thread. Actually that is where I read about the Update in the Sun Cellular site for the drivers. And I haven't come across a post there having the same problem as I was.

Re: SBW problem with Leopard
maybe its a problem with the modem itself. mine works okay with leopard, even with the latest update (10.5.7).
since sun has a 7-day replacement policy, maybe you can try to exchange it for another unit.

Maybe you're right. The weird thing is, it works on all our Windows based pc/laptops without a hitch. Even tried it via Fusion and bootcamp on my Mac. I think its more of the software that is conflicting with my mac.
But as you say, its works on your mac even with the latest update of leopard. And since I haven't seen any other info regarding my problem, maybe it's an isolated case.
Hopefully, somebody out there can shed some light on the problem.

Re: SBW problem with Leopard
Got mine last night. When I had to restart my mb, it won't detect the device. I deleted all files, including the SmartBro installation, then I reinstalled the software that came with it. It's working again. I hope I don't have to bring it the shop for replacement. It's such a hassle.
